Better Days Are Coming

This little man got shots yesterday. š As they were getting ready to give them, Maylin, my daughter insisted that I come over to stand by them to console him. (Or to console her- I couldnāt tell which it wasš). I held his hand and tried to comfort him but the look on his face told me that he didnāt understand. It broke my heart. As soon as they were done he was reaching for me to hold him. His Nonnie wanted to hold him as much as he wanted to be held. š š
In that moment all I could think was, āThis surely must be how Godās heart feels as he watches us endure painful places that he knows he will someday use for our good.ā #ohhowhelovesus
Keighan went on home and had a good nap and then the girls and I went by to pick him

up for Marleighās soccer practice. Marleigh, my younger daughter, insisted on it after she heard he got shots. He had a good time playing in the park with his Aunt Kenleigh and acted as if the shots from earlier in the day never happened. š
I just felt like there may be some of you who are in painful places where you are needing to be held by God today. I want you to know that he wants to hold you through it as much as you want to be held. And that a season of rest is coming! After it passes, you will have some time to play and laugh and in that moment it will be as if the pain from a little while earlier never even happened. š
Matthew 7:7-11 (MSG) Donāt bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isnāt a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game weāre in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick

him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldnāt think of such a thing. Youāre at least decent to your own children. So donāt you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better to you?
